We have been cloth diapering since October 2007 and since then Ive tried various wash routines and detergents and FINALLY i’ve found a routine that i stick to and i’m happy with. If anyone has any video requests just let me know

i hear you! we used to have HE washer/dryer and had to rinse a billion times because it uses less water!
We sold our front loader because it worked horrible with the cloth dipes lol so we love this top loader even if it is old school lol
Great video! Just curious if you have to rinse out the poo before you put the diapers in the wash. I’m considering switching to cloth diapers soon.
anything that doesnt knock off easily i just tosh in the washer and i’ve never had any trouble with the washing machine or the diapers

Have you tried tea tree oil or a diaper specific detergent like lil outlaws or rockin green? I do a single wash with cold with lil outlaws and tto and haven’t had to strip in over a year! No soaking, prewashing, or extra rinsing. Your routine seems so long and complicated!

this seems like an amazingly cheaper alternative to disposables. but honestly it seems like such a hassle, i wouldnlt be able to handle the dumping the poop off the diaper then having a washer full of pee and poop diapers soaking, please don’t take offense, i just dont think i could deal with it. not to mention the time, maybe if i didn’t work or something, but the last thing i’m doing after working my butt off all day is dealing with that mess. but whatever works for you that’s great.
Cloth diapering could never be considered to be an environmentally friendly alternative in Australia as we do not have an abundance of water. Doing 2 full loads of the washing machine on what amounts to 1/4 load is completely inconceivable. We are taught from childhood to not turn on the washing maching until it is FULL. So together with the detergents etc, cloth diapering is positively environmentally UNfriendly here. Its more expensive and wastes a precious resource.
umm have you ever considered how much water that you used because it is a lot most people just knock of the big bits and stick em in the wash and dry em
just take it into consideration

keep in mind that most cloth diapering moms do not use that much water I do a cold rinse a hot wash and a cold rinse in a HE machine so I use only a little bit more water than a normal laundry load ad do diapers 3 times a week. It really depends on your water supply and how it reacts to washing.

keep in mind most people dont soak their diapers before they wash them and you really do not have to deal with poop any more than you would with a disposable.

lol she has made it look more complicated than it is . newborn baby poop sort of soaks into the nappy and as they get bigger its no great effort to flip it off the nappy ,or you can use a liner (looks like a paper towel only cloth) that wraps it up. then soaked in solution in the bucket, then into the machine. no biggie
